Gathered 'Round the Fire

Overview
Gathered 'Round the Fire is a short mini-documentary about oral storytelling, Christmas tradition, Charles Dickens, and Mark Cabus's solo film. This documentary was used to support a full broadcast distribution of Mark Cabus's film on the local public broadcasting station.
My Contributions
Mark Cabus reached out to me to help ideate what this documentart might look like. We met serveral times to get an idea of the large story moments thata mighr be good to include in this documentary. Once we had an idea, I conducted an interview with Mr. Cabus where I asked him about the topics. I then took this interview, and cut it and added graphics to the liking of Cabus. In the end we produced this mini documentary to be shown on local airways with the film
Mark full-length is best known for his roles in The Client, The Longest Ride, and Selma.  Cabus got an amazing opportunity during the Covid-19 pandemic to transform his solo stage production, into a full length film. Since the film was produced, he decided to share it with the local community by broadcasting it on the air, with help from local PBS stations. Because the film was an awkward length for broadcast, and PBS does not air commercials to fill the dead air time. Cabus asked me if I would be willing to create a documentary about some of the things that inspired the story. After conducting some preliminary interviews, I filmed his commentary and then transformed it into the documentary that you see today. I was also tasked with getting the specific broadcast video out to the station in the data format that they required.
